The Española Walmart Super Center Store reopened to customers on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 8 a.m. One of its first items of business was to present a $31,000 check to the Northern New Mexico Regional Arts Center.

Lady Sundevils Basketball -

Forget about taking on an easy opponent to begin your season. The Española Valley High School Lady Sundevils faced Carlsbad High School Nov. 12 in their opening game of the season at Española. Carlsbad earned a victory over the Lady Sundevils with a 70-55 victory.


Pojoaque Girls Basketball -
The Pojoaque Valley girls basketball team snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat in their opening game of the season against Capital High School Nov. 17 at Pojoaque.

House Democrats Name New Speaker & Leaders

SANTA FE – Members of the New Mexico House Democratic Caucus selected their leadership for the 53rd Legislature, which will convene Jan. 18  2017.

House Democrats selected their choice for Speaker of the House, and elected the House Majority Leader, House Majority Whip, and House Majority Caucus Chair:

Speaker of the House – Rep. Brian Egolf (D-Santa Fe). Egolf, a Santa Fe native is entering his fifth term in the New Mexico House
