Hunt Transmission Line Project Proposal Draws Critics

A newly proposed electric transmission line generated lots of energy at the last Rio Arriba County Commission meeting of the year. The Dec. 15 commission meeting in Espanola, included an informational presentation on the proposed “Verde Transmission Project” by Jeremy Turner and T.J. Trujillo representing the project's developers, Hunt Power out of Texas.

McCurdy Girls Basketball -

The McCurdy Charter School Lady Bobcats battled bigger schools at the Ben Lujan basketball tournament hosted by Pojoaque Valley High School.
Class 5A Grants High School beat the Class 3A Lady Bobcats 57-35 Dec. 15 in the tournament’s opening round.


 
Espanola Boys Basketball -

The Española  Valley High School boys basketball team ran its winning streak to seven games with victories over Kirtland Central High School and Bloomfield High School at the Eddie Pena Holiday Classic basketball tournament hosted by Grants High School. The Sundevils winning streak came to an end in the championship game against host Grants.


 
Pojoaque Boys & Girls Basketball -

The Pojoaque Valley High School boys basketball team and girls basketball teams are both looking for answers after each lost two of the three games they played in at the Ben Lujan basketball tournament hosted by Pojoaque.
