Gabriel Huerta Benefit Spaghetti Dinner/Dance & Bake Sale

Friends and family of Gabriel Huerta are holding a benefit spaghetti dinner/dance and bake sale Friday, Jan. 27 to help fund his efforts to attend the "Down Under Games" in Australia this summer. 

As previously reported HERE, Huerta has been invited to an international track and field event in Australia this coming summer. Huerta, a runner for McCurdy received an invitation from the Down Under Sports Tournaments organization which hosts athletes from around the world at international events in Australia. Read on for full details.

The Escalante High School boys basketball team won the consolation championship at the Northern Rio Grande basketball tournament, defeating Mesa Vista High School 62-39 Jan. 7 at Pojoaque Valley High School.

Espanola Boys Basketball -

The Española Valley High School boys basketball team picked up a pair of victories last week, defeating two Class 4A teams from District 2-4A. The Sundevils defeated Robertson High School 67-59 Jan. 4 and St. Michael’s High School Jan. 7 with both games being played at Española.


 
Northern Rio Grande Championship Boys Basketball -

Pecos High School proved they deserved the top seed in the 69th annual Northern Rio Grande basketball tournament with a 66-48 victory over the Dulce High School Hawks in the championship game Jan. 7 at Pojoaque Valley High School.
