Northern Rio Grande Championship Girls Basketball -

The Mora High School Rangerettes had something to prove at the girls Northern Rio Grande tournament. Ranked just seventh coming into the tournament with a modest 3-9 record, the Rangerettes rallied for three victories at the tournament.

Local Lawmakers at the Roundhouse -

Local House members saw some major changes in the first day. The Democrats retook the majority in the House in the November election meaning they are back in charge.

Legislative Session Begins -

Starting the seventh year of her eight year term, New Mexico’s Republican Gov. Susana Martinez called for much the same medicine she has prescribed all along: lower taxes, fewer regulations, more schooling choices and accountability and better tools for the courts and law enforcement to fight drunk driving and crime.

Cold War III Boxing Match -

Española boxer Antonio “Tone” Martinez gets back into the boxing ring Jan. 28 at Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino.

Lady Sundevils Basketball -

Española Valley High School gained a measure of revenge against Gallup High School with a 74-66 victory over the Lady Bengals Jan. 10 at Española.

Nature's Presence -

The place is called The Scher Center for Well Being and it is located in Santa Fe.

Espanola Boys Basketball -

In a classic showdown between two defending state champions, the Rio Rancho High School Rams held on to a 57-54 victory over the Española Valley High School Sundevils Jan. 14 at Española.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Observed In The Valley -

Espanola Public School Board Election -

Two current Española School Board members will not seek re-election in the upcoming Feb. 7 school board election.
